It is true that FC Barcelona have a plethora of financial issues to consider when making moves this summer. The Catalan club is hardly in a stable position in that sense and cannot simply go around making big signings. However, if Barcelona were to return to the 1:1 rule, that would not be an impossible dream either.

Yet, the devil seems to lie in the details. Even if Barcelona were to return to the 1:1 rule, they would need to generate adequate revenue that could be used to bring in new signings. That is why Barcelona is reportedly working on operations involving a lot of separate hypothetical departures.

However, there is one player who Barcelona believe still has a respectable market and value to be sold for high figures. That player would be Raphinha, the 27-year-old Brazilian winger who arrived from English side Leeds United in the summer of 2022.

At the moment, Barcelona believe they still may end up wanting to sign a new left-winger, and they already have some strong options on the right. That is why the possible sale of Raphinha would not necessarily hurt too much, but there is just one thing Barcelona will look to guarantee even if they were to sell him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will not be selling Raphinha unless an offer of €90 million or above ends up arriving. The club does not just want to make a profit over the investment they made in the Brazilian winger in 2022, they also want to make sure it’s a significant enough chunk of revenue to allow for major signings.

As it stands, Barcelona think that some foreign clubs would be willing to bet on Raphinha. Moreover, if an offer that significant ends up arriving, the Catalan club believes it would only surface if the other party already has an agreement on personal terms with the South American winger.

On the other hand, it is also true that new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick respects what Raphinha brings to the table. He sees the winger as a hardworking player who gives his all to the team on the field from the starting whistle to the ending one. However, due to the financial hurdles and intricacies, Barcelona may be forced to make the decision to sell him.
