Athletic Club star Nico Williams is increasingly eager to seal a move to La Liga rivals with a view to next season.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Monday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

The name of wide-man Williams, of course, took its place front and centre in the media headlines throughout the summer transfer window.

This came with the 22-year-old’s continued excellence for club and country alike having sparked widespread interest in his signature.

Barcelona, for one, pushed hard to bring Nico in for much of the summer, eager to unite the Spanish international with close friend Lamine Yamal.

In the end, the talented attacker opted to stay put, rewarded for his commitment with Athletic Club’s no.10 jersey.

Rumours have nevertheless continued to swirl, though, that Deco and co. are preparing to reignite their efforts to bring Nico in for next season.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then such endeavours could yet prove to be altogether more productive, this time round.

This comes amid claims that Nico is now ready to make the jump to the Camp Nou.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Nico Williams feels a greater desire to sign for Barça than four months ago. The situation is different now. Or rather, the same. The player’s enthusiasm for being a Barça player is still there and has even increased.’
