Barcelona star Ansu Fati is set to stay put for the 2nd half of the campaign.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
The name of wide-man Ansu has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain over the last 24 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 21-year-old is set for a fresh spell on the sidelines.
Ansu for his part missed the early weeks of the campaign with a foot injury, since struggling to carve out meaningful playing time for himself under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick.
Speculation, in turn, had begun to spread in the media of late that the Spanish international could be on the move in January, in search of more consistent playing time.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Thursday is anything to go by, then as much now appears all but ruled out.
After Ansu was condemned to a minimum of a month on the treatment table with a hamstring injury, Sport report that:
‘The loss of the Barça academy player removes the possibility of an exit in the winter market despite the fact that there were options on the table and now everything is focused on him being able to recover well to finish the season in the best possible way.’
