A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is in line for his first-ever start in Spanish football’s biggest fixture on Saturday.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Olmo as the player in question.
Attacking midfielder Olmo has spent recent weeks ramping up his fitness, following another spell on the sidelines with injury.
The last week alone has seen the 26-year-old prove himself decisive on a pair of occasions for Barcelona, in meetings with Celta Vigo, and Mallorca.
And if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, as much looks set to see Olmo rewarded in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final.
As per a report from MD:
‘Dani Olmo, who was key against Celta Vigo and Mallorca, is expected to start his first Clásico.’
In the case of Olmo being called upon by Hansi Flick to face Real Madrid at La Cartuja, Gavi and Fermín López will be forced to make do with a place on the bench.
