Barcelona star emerges as last-minute doubt to face Girona | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has emerged as a late doubt to feature in the club’s upcoming meeting with Girona.

Barca, of course, are set to return to action on Saturday evening.

In a crunch clash in the race for 2nd in the Spanish top-flight, Xavi’s troops will make the short trip to the Estadi Montilivi, for a meeting with Catalan neighbours Girona.

As things stand, the sides are separated by just two points in the table, with the Blaugrana boasting the advantage in the battle for a place in next season’s Supercopa de España.

Boss Xavi, as a result, will be hopeful of having as many of his stars as possible fit and raring to go on Saturday evening.

As alluded to above, though, one such player, today, has seen his participation against Girona thrown into serious doubt.

The player in question? Vitor Roque.

As confirmed by a host of sources across the Spanish media, frontman Roque played no part in Barcelona training earlier today.

This comes with the Brazilian struggling with a bout of flu.

It remains to be seen whether or not he recovers in time to take his place in the Blaugrana’s matchday squad on Saturday.
