Barcelona star admits ‘I could’ve performed better’ against Inter Milan | OneFootball

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has revealed his take that he could have performed at a higher level in the club’s most recent outing.

De Jong was for his part in from the off once more on Wednesday night.

This came as Barcelona welcomed Italian champions Inter Milan to Catalunya’s capital, for the first leg of a Champions League semi-final tie.

When all was said and done in a pulsating affair, the spoils were shared, owing to a 3-3 result.

The aforementioned De Jong, meanwhile, enjoyed a fine evening’s work, shining on both sides of the ball from his customary berth at the base of midfield.

And yet, in the eyes of the Dutchman himself, his performance was evidently lacking…

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of last night’s clash, De Jong was drawn on his efforts over the 90 minutes against Inter.

And the former Ajax man was not shy in admitting:

“I leave with a feeling that I could’ve performed better than I did.”
