Very few footballers in Europe have been as consistent over the last seven years as Liverpool’s star man Mohamed Salah. Though legendary stars have come and gone from Anfield during that time, Salah has been the constant in the team as Liverpool have won everything there is to win.
Now, as questions begin to be raised over the Egyptian’s contract renewal at Liverpool, several top clubs are starting to consider whether Salah’s future lies elsewhere.
One such club is Barcelona, as Diario Sport are reporting that the club could be interested in bringing in the forward after they failed in their pursuit back in 2021.
At the time, the move was financially unfeasible, as the transfer fee involved was out of Barça’s budget, but now that Salah might be available on a free transfer Barcelona could be back in the race for the winger.
The main obstacles to a move are that Liverpool are still keen on renewing and that there has been strong interest from Saudi Arabia, but the Egyptian is reportedly interested in a change of scenery and Barça are keen on making the move happen.
Should the Catalan club fail in their pursuit of Nico Williams, Mo Salah presents an alternative without sacrificing in terms of quality in front of goal.
