Marc Casado has become a potential transfer option for Barcelona as the club looks to secure a major sale this summer.
While the club trusts the midfielder and recently extended his contract until 2028, they acknowledge the overcrowding in the midfield and would be willing to listen to substantial offers.
Casado’s current market value stands at around €30 million, and according to SPORT, Barcelona will seek an offer of around €50 million for the La Masia midfielder.
If such an offer arrives, and the player agrees to a move, the door would be open for him to leave. However, his strong commitment to Barcelona makes such a decision far from certain.
Barcelona are already aware of Chelsea’s interest in Casado. The Premier League side continues to invest heavily in the market, and the profile of the La Masia graduate fits their model.
It remains to be seen whether they would meet the required fee, though Barcelona’s sporting department expects a formal move in July.

Atletico Madrid have also reportedly inquired about the midfielder and other clubs may express interest in the coming days.
Barcelona’s midfield priority currently lies in renewing Frenkie de Jong, who sidelined Casado from the team from February onwards.
The Dutch international is expected to be a key starter for the foreseeable future, limiting Casado’s chances of playing time.
Additionally, Hansi Flick wants to give a more prominent role to Marc Bernal, who had already become a starter before his injury, despite not yet being 18 years old.
The Blaugrana are confident that, if Bernal recovers well, he can become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
Flick will also have to distribute minutes among Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Fermin Lopez, making it extremely difficult for others to break into the rotation. This could become even more complicated if Nico Williams is signed and Raphinha is required to play centrally.
The German coach plans to speak with players expected to have more regular minutes during the early stages of pre-season to help them evaluate their roles and consider a potential departure if necessary.
Casado has a release clause of €100 million, and his breakout early last season was remarkable. But De Jong’s return and a knee injury saw his role diminish in the latter part of the season. It now remains to be seen whether he ends up leaving or stays.
