The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona knocked back a pair of big-money proposals by way of the Premier League earlier this summer.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards both as having come for Fermín López.
Midfielder Fermín has of course seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Barcelona over the summer to date.
This comes after it was suggested that, amid their ongoing efforts to return to the 1:1 financial rule, the Blaugrana could sacrifice their talented young star.
A number of high-profile clubs, in turn, expressed an interest in bringing Fermín in.
And as alluded to above, two such suitors are even said to have gone as far as to table massive proposals for his signature.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Barça received two proposals at the end of July to transfer Fermín for an amount close to 80 million euros. Specifically, it was Manchester United and Chelsea who officially approached the Blaugrana club to start negotiations.’
In the end, however, Hansi Flick put his foot down, adamant that his midfield starlet would be going nowhere before the summer is out.
