FC Barcelona have been cruising so far in 2025, and are yet to taste defeat in any competition. It is certainly a surreal statistic in itself, and it is reflected on their progress in various competitions as well. However, there has also been little to no rest for Barcelona as they continue to march on.

Following their recent victory over Leganes, the Catalan giants now temporarily have a seven point lead at the top of the La Liga table. However, their attention will now turn back towards the UEFA Champions League as they prepare to face off against Borussia Dortmund.

With a convincing 4-0 victory in the first-half, Barça simply need to secure a decent enough result in the second leg and they will be through to the semi-finals of the competition. Fortunately for them, they will be able to do so with the help of a returning player.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the club has now officially given the medical green-light to Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo. Having been injured previously, he now seems to have fully recovered and is available for selection again under Hansi Flick’s command.

He also recently trained with the group in their most recent training session, and is set to travel with the squad to Germany as Barcelona prepare for the second leg. With his ability to work wonders in tight spaces, his return to the team will certainly be a welcome boost.

However, there will likely be no rush to bring him back into the starting eleven immediately. With both Gavi and Fermin Lopez available, Hansi Flick will likely continue to trust them with the responsibility to start for Barcelona while Olmo is reintegration into the starting line-up gradually.

The final stretch of the season is now here, and La Blaugrana have just seven games left to play in La Liga. Moreover, they have the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid still to play as well as a potential semi-final tie in the Champions League if they can get past Dortmund. Thus, it is important for Hansi Flick to manage the minutes of his players well.
