Last weekend saw Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona demolish arch-rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu with a brutal second-half performance that earned them a thumping 4-0 win.
It was a big statement from Barça who not only extended their lead at the top of the La Liga standings to six points but also served a resounding confirmation of the project’s promise under Flick’s leadership.
Naturally, there was no containing the excitement of Barcelona president Joan Laporta after the team hammered Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Indeed, Laporta reminded everyone about what the Blaugrana had achieved during his speech at the Ballon d’Or gala on Monday when he was on stage to accept the Women’s Club of the Year award.

Now a small clip of his interaction with a fan at the Ballon d’Or ceremony has surfaced during which Laporta can be seen being ecstatic about the win over Real Madrid.
Known for his candid approach, Laporta was questioned about his experience of El Clasico and his impressions before the Ballon d’Or Gala. The president spoke frankly, expressing that he felt “very happy” before adding “It’s the best present you can give to a Culé, isn’t it?”
When the fan thanked Laporta for his efforts in helping achieve what was witnessed at the Bernabeu, the president responded with characteristic warmth: “Thank you all. This is for you,” directing his gratitude towards the Barcelona faithful.
