Dani Olmo was a notable absentee from Barcelona’s recent defeat to Las Palmas. Although the playmaker was a part of the squad, he was an unused substitute due to discomfort.
Olmo was left out on the bench in the hopes that he will be available for Barcelona’s next league encounter against Mallorca.
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a fresh update on the fitness of Olmo, as he prepares for the Mallorca clash.
The report reveals that the former RB Leipzig star had to train separately from the group on Sunday, two days before Barcelona take on Mallorca.
While it is natural to believe that Olmo training alone might rule him out from the Mallorca game, it might not necessarily be a bad sign for Barcelona.

In fact, the report suggests that the Spaniard trained differently so that he does not overload the pain area. It further adds that Olmo has not been ruled out of the Mallorca clash.
That being said, the sheer proximity of the Barcelona clash – three days after the Las Palmas game – means Olmo is indeed a doubt heading into this midweek encounter.
Olmo’s extended spell on the touchline could spell trouble for Barcelona, who have struggled to re-integrate the injured players back into the core setup.
With five league goals in seven matches, Olmo is a key component in Flick’s setup and his creativity could go a long way in breaking the shackles of the Mallorca defence.
But without his services, Flick might once again have to rely on the services of Pablo Torre and Fermin Lopez.
