Over the past 24 hours, there has once again been a drastic change regarding the managerial situation at FC Barcelona.

After months of speculations, it appeared that Xavi Hernandez would continue at the club for another season, but the situation has flipped completely once again.

It is being claimed that Barcelona president Joan Laporta is unhappy with the comments made by Xavi earlier this week and has now decided to part ways with him before the next season.

Rafa Yuste refused to answer question about Xavi’s future

This development comes in the backdrop of Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Almeria last night, which took them a step closer towards securing second place in La Liga.

Following the match on Thursday night, Barcelona’s vice-president and Laporta’s close aide, Rafa Yuste, was asked about the situation surrounding Xavi and his continuity.

However, refusing to comment on the matter, Yuste just said “Good night” before taking off, as reported by El Chiringuito TV.

Xavi to depart in the summer

Multiple reputable publications from Catalonia are now reporting that Xavi will indeed be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.

It is being suggested that there was never a total consensus within the Barça board about his continuity, and the defeat to Girona earlier in the month tore open the wound again.

Now, his comments earlier in the week seem to have not gone down too well within the club, with Laporta opting to move on.

The search for a manager will resume again as Barcelona look for a new face to lead their project post the Xavi era.
