It seems on the improbable side that Barcelona will do business in the January transfer window before the deadline on the third of February, but if they are to do so, then it appears they will target reinforcements in the attacking third. The intriguing option of Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku has landed on their desk.
With Ansu Fati clearly not trusted by manager Hansi Flick and without an appearance in months, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been linked with a loan move to Barcelona until the end of the season. Thus far he has been their priority, but until another player exits and frees up space in their salary limit, the Blaugrana must wait or hope to reach a compromise with the Red Devils.

Now, according to Sport, City winger Doku has been offered to the club on loan until the end of the season. Similarly, Barcelona would have to first make space for Doku in their salary limit, but his agent is offering Doku to various clubs around Europe on the same basis, after a shift in his situation. Recently Pep Guardiola has opted for Savinho over Doku in his favoured position, something that has not gone down well with the Belgian, who has also seen another forward in Omar Marmoush arrive at the club in a €75m deal from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Barcelona will evaluate the option, but have told Doku’s agents that a priori, there is no space in their salary limit. Doku would be a more classic winger for Hansi Flick, and one that can beat their defender, a profile lacking in their frontline, but would not provide the same versatility as Rashford. This season Doku has 6 goals and 7 assists in 22 appearances, although if he is unhappy about playing time, it seems unlikely Flick would guarantee Doku playing time ahead of Raphinha or Lamine Yamal.
