The centre-forward is one of the positions that FC Barcelona are reportedly looking to strengthen in the upcoming summer transfer window. Robert Lewandowski is very likely to stay for at least one more season at the Catalan club, but next season, he will already be 37 years old, and the Blaugranes want to have a world-class player to further complement this position.
For this purpose, one of the players that attract the attention of Barcelona the most is the Newcastle United forward, Alexander Isak. At 25 years of age, the Swede has been impressing a lot with his technical quality, his ability to link up well both inside and outside the box, and his goalscoring ability.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, even though the forward is excited about their interest, the Catalans understand that signing Isak will nowhere near be easy for them, especially considering the very high demand that he is enjoying from big clubs around Europe.

There are three big clubs only from the Premier League that are interested in his services, i.e., Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. All these three sides are looking for a new striker as their current centre-forwards are either injured or are not performing at the required levels, and Isak is a very attractive target for them.
Meanwhile, outside of England, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also attentive to the striker’s situation. Luis Enrique only has Goncalo Ramos as a number 9, but even he is not a fixed starter. Similarly, Bayern Munich have Harry Kane, but they still want another top-level forward to complement him and bring the Bavarians back to the summit of European football.
Furthermore, the price that Newcastle United are expected to ask for their prized asset is going to make an operation for Isak further complicated for Barcelona. He has a contract till 2028 with the English side, but the Magpies understand they will find it hard to retain him if they do not qualify for the UCL next season.
They have paid around €70 million for his signing and would allow him to leave only for more than €100 million to make a profit on him.
Meanwhile, the player might also look to improve on his current €18 million contract. Thus, Barcelona will have to make some big sales if they are to compete for his signing next summer.
