Barcelona in surprise link with Tottenham star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday been tipped to launch what would mark an altogether surprising move for a member of the defensive ranks at Tottenham Hotspur.

The player in question? Emerson Royal.

Full-back Emerson, for his part, is widely expected to be on the move this summer.

Sitting behind Pedro Porro in the pecking order at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Brazilian has made his way onto the wishlist of a number of clubs from Serie A.

The likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are all thought to be interested in Emerson’s services.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then such suitors could yet face competition from one of the 25-year-old’s former clubs.

As per a report from Caught Offside:

‘Barcelona are thought to be considering entering the picture.’

The Blaugrana are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back with a view to next season.

And, should their pursuit of Manchester City’s João Cancelo come up short, they are giving serious consideration to turning attentions towards Emerson.
