Barcelona hold talks with Man United winger’s agent; face stiff competition from Euro giants | OneFootball

The future of Marcus Rashford has been in focus this month as the forward looks for a way out of Old Trafford.

The English forward has been frozen out of the team by new Man United coach Ruben Amorim. As a result, he is keen on seeking a new challenge elsewhere.

Barcelona have emerged as one of the potential suitors for Rashford, as club president Joan Laporta looks to shore up the offensive unit.

Laporta secured an important victory earlier in the week after CSD granted a precautionary measure for the registration of summer signings Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. His next goal is to strengthen the Barcelona squad with at least one new signing.

Barcelona had meeting with Rashford’s agents

The Catalans have not wasted their time in regards to the Rashford pursuit either.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blaugrana are among the clubs to have held talks with the Englishman’s agents this week.

It appears the club are keen on signing the Man United frontman as a potential alternative for Robert Lewandowski – something the team lacks at the moment.

Following an exceptional start to the season, the Pole’s form has tapered off in recent weeks, leading to concerns within the Barcelona ranks.

With Ansu Fati also failing to live up to the expectations, the time is right to bring in a versatile attacker like Rashford.

That said, Barcelona are not alone in the race to sign the Englishman. The forward has also been courted by the likes of Como and AS Monaco, though Romano confirms these clubs are yet to hold talks with the player.

Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus are other clubs interested in the services of Rashford, as he looks to take the next step in his career.

The aforementioned three teams have also spoken with the Manchester United star’s agent and will provide stiff competition to Barcelona.
