Barcelona goalkeeper Arnau Tenas has confirmed he will leave Camp Nou this summer.
The Spanish shot-stopper’s contract expires at the end of this month, and there is an option for Barca to extend his stay for two more years.
However, the Blaugrana have opted against exercising the clause despite holding talks with the goalkeeper’s entourage.
“It has come out that Barça has decided not to execute my renewal and I can confirm that it is true”, Tenas said (h/t Diario AS).
Tenas was the third-choice keeper last season, serving as an understudy to Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Inaki Pena.
However, the 22-year-old has been a prominent fixture for Barca’s reserve team.
The La Masia graduate has been widely regarded as one of the top talents in the country as well as the future of Barca.
Tenas came to prominence following his stellar campaign in the 2019 U19 European Championship, where he helped Spain win the title.
He is aiming for another international title after helping Spain win their first two games at the U21 European Championship.
Getafe have been touted as potential suitors for Tenas, with the Madrid-based outfit already boasting former Barca players Munir El Haddadi and Carlos Alena in their squad.
Barca announced the arrival of Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City today, with the German midfielder penning a two-year contract until 2025 with an option for a further year.
