Barcelona defender Jules Kounde goes down injured against Inter Milan | OneFootball

The game between FC Barcelona and Inter Milan has officially kicked off. Both teams are clashing at the Montjuic Stadium to get a good result in this game. After all, both Barcelona and their Italian opponents want as good of a lead as possible, but Jules Kounde has already suffered an unwanted problem.

With the first-half now concluded, the score is tied at 2-2 for both teams. Goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries kicked things off for Inter Milan, but Barcelona responded well with a brilliant goal from Lamine Yamal and an equalizer from Ferran Torres.

The youngster is completely running the show for the Catalan giants, as Yamal has done much more than just score a world-class goal. He is dribbling, passing, and running circles around the opposition as he continues to create danger and openings for Barcelona to exploit.

Unfortunately, however, there is some bad news as well. As pointed out by Barça Times as well, French defender Jules Kounde had to be taken off due to injury and could not continue with the game.

That is undoubtedly a massive blow for Barcelona, especially considering Kounde’s recent form. In his stead, Eric Garcia has been brought on as the replacement and he will slot in as the right-back for the team in this game.

When the official starting eleven for Barcelona came out, it was clear to see that Hansi Flick was going for a team that could compete at their highest level. Unfortunately, that also meant the possibility of fatigue letting them down as well potentially.

For Jules Kounde, that seems to have now become the unfortunate reality. It remains to be seen how problematic his injury is, but it will likely take Barcelona some time to run tests and fully figure out what happened to the French defender. However, the team’s primary focus will now be on getting to the end of the game with a good result to show for it.
