FC Barcelona remain optimistic about their financial recovery and believe they will be back under La Liga’s 1:1 spending rule by early August, reports SPORT.

This would allow the club to finalise pending transfer operations with greater flexibility.

According to club sources, the financial audit, conducted by Crowe Spain, is in its final stages and is expected to be submitted to La Liga by the end of July.

Once reviewed and approved by the league’s financial department, the Catalans expect to regain their operational freedom in the transfer market.

VIP Box deal the key

To requalify for the 1:1 rule, Barcelona are relying on Crowe Spain to validate two key revenue streams.

First, the club claims that 475 VIP boxes at the Spotify Camp Nou are completed and ready for commercial use, which would allow them to book €100 million in income from the deal struck back in January.

Second, the club expect the auditor to confirm that the outstanding €42 million from the New Era agreement is contractually secured and thus can be recognised as income. That amount would complete the €100 million figure stipulated in the deal.

According to the club, Ruslan Birladeanu’s company will make the payments in two agreed instalments: the first in September, and the second in 2026.

Crucial for registrations

Once La Liga approves the audit, Barcelona would officially be back under the 1:1 Fair Play rule, giving the sporting department more room to operate and complete the registrations that are currently on hold.

In parallel, however, Barcelona must also reduce their wage bill to create room for the salaries of new signings.

One of the key moves under consideration is the exit of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is no longer seen as the first-choice goalkeeper following the arrival of Joan Garcia.

Additionally, the Blaugrana are expected to finalise the departure of one of the players previously identified as potential exits. The focus is on Andreas Christensen or Ronald Araujo, even though both have expressed a desire to remain at the club.
