Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Trophy while Harry Kane shared the goalscoring award
The 2024 Ballon d’Or was dominated by Spanish stars, as Rodri and Aitana Bonmati picked up the main awards.
Rodri beat Vinicius Junior to win the Ballon d’Or, having played a leading role in Manchester City defending their Premier League crown last season and Spain going all the way at Euro 2024.
Real Madrid opted to boycott as a result of hearing that Vinicius would not win the award, with none of their players or staff in attendance in Paris on Monday night.
Bonmati won the Ballon d’Or Feminin for the second year in a row, after another season of club dominance with Barcelona.
Earlier in the night, Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Trophy for the best under-21 player, while Emi Martinez defended his goalkeeper’s crown by taking home the Yashin Trophy again.
Carlo Ancelotti and Emma Hayes were recognised as the coaches of the year, and Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe shared the Gerd Muller Trophy after both scoring 52 goals.
