Two out of two. After their 4-0 victory over Udinese, the Primavera beat Torino 2-0 on matchday 2 to remain top of the league on maximum points alongside Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio. Goals from Bakoune (13’) and Bonomi (an 87th-minute penalty) proved decisive for the Rossoneri, who opened the scoring early on and stood firm under pressure. It wasn’t just the result that was positive, then, with the team producing a compact performance full of sacrifice. Less than three weeks ago, we lost 5-1 to Torino, but this evening’s display shows just how much the team is growing.

At the PUMA House of Football, the Rossoneri kept their second consecutive clean sheet. Over the course of the 90 minutes, Mastrantonio wasn’t called into action on many occasions, even when Torino pushed AC Milan back midway through the second half. The Diavolo were excellent defensively and stayed alert when the visitors applied maximum pressure. Now, Coach Guidi’s side will turn their attentions to their next match away to Genoa at 11:00 CEST on Saturday.

MATCH REPORT After an opening where the teams looked to figure each other out, Guidi’s Rossoneri had the first chance through Sala, who tested Plaia from the edge of the box (12’). AC Milan then opened the scoring from the resulting corner, which was taken by Stalmach and finished by Bakoune at the back post. Stalmach almost went from provider to scorer as he let fly with a left-footed effort that finished inches off target. The Granata weren’t posing much of a threat, although Franzoni was thwarted by the outrushing Mastrantonio in the 18th minute. The opening half was a scrappy affair at times, with plenty of fouls committed, but we went into the break one to the good.

The Rossoneri immediately had a chance at the start of the second half: Stalmach sent in a low cross for Dutu, whose first-time right-footed attempt was kept out by Plaia. In the 53rd minute, Mastrantonio was then in place to save shots from Dalla Valle and, moments later, Conzato. The Granata kept on pushing and came close to equalising through Kirilov (63’). The same Granata player also threatened from a Bonadiman cross after 72 minutes, but Mastrantonio kept out his powerful strike. We then had a chance on the break through Lamorte, who skewed his shot after doing everything right to reach the edge of the area. The win was sealed late on: Bonomi was fouled in the area on the counter and stepped up to convert the resulting penalty: 2-0 to AC Milan!
