Athletic Club star joins Man United & Tottenham players in Europa League Team of the Season | OneFootball

A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Athletic Club has been named in the official Europa League Team of the Season.

The player in question? Nico Williams.

The Europa League campaign, of course, came to a definitive close earlier this week.

After Premier League strugglers Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United locked horns in the competition’s finale, it was the former who emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result.

It should therefore come as little surprise to hear of players from the two English clubs dominating the Europa League Team of the Season.

All of Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Dominic Solanke have been named in the XI.

The sole La Liga inclusion, meanwhile, comes in the form of that of the aforementioned Nico Williams, rewarded for his efforts en route to Athletic Club’s semi-final elimination.
