The period between the September and October international breaks is usually one of the most delicate each season. The European competitions begin, the first big matches are usually played, the stakes are starting to rise, even though there are several chapters missing from this book of the sporting year. For Fonseca's AC Milan, this month filled with matches is even more delicate are a far from satisfactory August. After two points from the first three league games, the Rossoneri have found a new impetus from which performances and results have improved with the passing of the weeks.

The first memorable moment from the 2024/25 season: much anticipation and desire allowed for a win in the Derby, achieved in the final minutes with a header from Matteo Gabbia, securing a win that will remain in hearts and minds. The loss in Firenze, just before the international break, has put a halt on the rise to the top and the current moment of positivity. The fact that the match occurred right before the international break can make analysis of errors a bit easier so that we can get back on track.

The Derby wasn't the only great occasion that will be saved in the archives. We obtained two wins and our first two clean sheets of the season against Venezia and Lecce, first goals (Abraham, Fofana) and confirmation of the high levels shown by Pulisic, MVP Rossonero for September. It's worth underlining Theo Hernández as he became the highest scoring defender in AC Milan history in the Serie A thanks to the goal against Lecce, and in general some solid performances from Fofana and Morata, who has established himself as a leader thanks to his charisma and positive attitude on every occasion.

The results haven't arrived in the Champions League, but against Liverpool the performance after the start of the match could not have been better, in Leverkusen Fonseca's side deserved a good result against the German champions. As we have breathed new life into our Italian standings between September and October, we will need to get back to winning ways after the break with games against Club Brugge and Real Madrid. The balance, in total, does not make for good viewing, but the team knows what it must improve on to make strides in the competition.
