As per L’Équipe, Aston Villa are the latest in a long line of clubs to show an interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani (26). With reports that PSG are in the market for a No.9, could Jhon Duran (21) move in the opposite direction?
Kolo Muani is surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes, as evidenced by his latest omission from the matchday squad as they beat AS Monaco in the Trophée des Champions in Qatar on Sunday. The Principality club have, in fact, shown an interest in the France international, even seeing a loan bid turned down by Les Parisiens, as per Téléfoot.
There is also intense interest from the Premier League, including from Aston Villa. PSG reportedly want €60m for the striker. The Ligue 1 side would prefer a permanent transfer, although a loan with an option to buy could be accepted. Football Insider revealed that in potential negotiations with Aston Villa, a swap for Duran would also be accepted.
In response to the story, RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins said, “Nothing is finalised”. An interest in pulling off a deal may, however, exist. Duran has had a strong start to the season for Aston Villa, netting 12 goals in 26 games, despite only making seven starts.
