HLN are reporting that Anderlecht are set to bring in Yasin Ozcan. The 19-year-old defender will join the Brussels club on loan, with a purchase option having been included in the deal. Bizzarely, Ozcan was only signed by Aston Villa this summer for around €7m from Turkish side Kasimpasa. It is not yet clear how much the purchase option will be, but given the circumstances, it should be greater than the amount Aston Villa paid for the teenage defender.
Despite his youthful age, Ozcan has played three seasons of senior men’s football already. During the 2022/2023 season he already made 20 appearances, scoring twice. The next season he made 40 appearances, before another 34 last season. While Anderlecht could do with another experienced defender, the youngster clearly does have more experience than most 19-year-olds. He is also a full Turkish international.
Anderlecht opened their domestic season with a thumping 5-2 win over Westerlo, but were knocked out of Europa League qualifying by Swedish side BK Hacken.
