In a recent interview with ESPN Brasil, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his admiration for Brazilian football and discussed the contributions of the Brazilian contingent at the London club, both on and off the pitch.

Edu Gaspar, Arsenal‘s technical director and a former player for the club, received high praise from Arteta. “From the moment they brought Edu in, it was an absolute success,” Arteta stated. He emphasised Edu‘s deep understanding of the club’s culture and his clear vision for success, crediting the Brazilian for playing a pivotal role in his own achievements as Arsenal‘s manager.

“He changed my life, because he had the courage to trust me without having been a coach, at such a big club and at a difficult time,” Arteta remarked, highlighting Edu‘s instrumental support during his early days at the helm.

Arteta also took the opportunity to discuss the three Gabriels currently in Arsenal‘s squad: Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus. He acknowledged each player’s unique strengths and contributions to the team.

Regarding Gabriel Jesus, who has seen limited playing time recently, Arteta reassured fans that the Brazilian striker will have more opportunities in the future. “He’s just come back from an injury, and the team is playing well. It’s not easy,” Arteta explained. “But his time will come again.”
