Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori avoids serious injury | OneFootball

Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has now avoided serious injury, after having come off for the club in the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

There has been a fear that Calafiori could have sustained a major injury, considering his background for knee issues. But Sky Italia have confirmed that even though the Italian will probably miss action for a few weeks, his injury isn’t serious at all and the issue is only minor. Corriere dello Sport also mention that the defender is ‘okay’.

A statement from Arsenal will be made soon and they will confirm that the injury isn’t major. It won’t impact the rest of the season at all, even if he will miss some games. It comes as a relief for not just Arsenal but also for the Italian national team.

He has impressed for the club this season, justifying the fee that brought him from Bologna in the summer.
