Arsenal travel to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime looking to cut Liverpool’s lead at the top.
A draw in the Merseyside Derby opened up a seven-point gap between the leaders and Arsenal, who will aim to put the pressure on their title rivals this weekend.
Mikel Arteta’s team return to action after an extended break. The Spaniard took his side to Dubai for warm weather training this week given their early elimination from the FA Cup.
Leicester bowed out of the FA Cup in the fourth round last Friday. The Foxes conceded a controversial stoppage-time goal to former favourite Harry Maguire in a 2-1 defeat at Manchester United. That result followed a 4-0 loss at Everton that leaves Leicester in the Premier League’s relegation places.
Arsenal were dealt a huge blow this week with Kai Havertz ruled out for the rest of the season. The Germany international tore his hamstring during the training camp in Dubai and will not play again in 2024/25. With Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka also unavailable, Arsenal lack options in the final third.
Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard or Raheem Sterling could be used in an unfamiliar centre-forward role. Elsewhere, Ben White could return after training in Dubai, though Takehiro Tomiyasu remains out. The Japan international could undergo surgery to correct a persistent knee issue.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling.
Leicester host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday 15th February 2025. Kick-off at the King Power Stadium is 12:30 GMT.
The game will be broadcast to a UK audience on TNT Sports.
