Arsenal Football Club has announced a 3.7% increase in ticket prices for the 2025/26 season, a decision that follows similar adjustments at other Premier League clubs. This increase comes after extensive consultation with fans and an analysis of the club’s financial performance.
The decision to raise ticket prices is undoubtedly a difficult one, given the current climate where many fans are already grappling with increasing costs of living. While clubs like Brentford and Liverpool have opted to freeze ticket prices, Arsenal’s move to raise prices highlights the financial pressures facing top-flight clubs. According to Arsenal’s most recent accounts, the club recorded a loss last season, with their wage bill increasing by a significant 40%.
In light of these financial struggles, Arsenal has made efforts to engage with supporters to explain the necessity of this price increase. Over the past two weeks, the club has held extensive meetings with supporters, seeking their feedback and ensuring transparency in the process. Arsenal remains committed to keeping concessions, responding to requests from the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), which has advocated for support in controlling ticket price increases across the Premier League.
In addition to the price hike, Arsenal has announced the introduction of a 19-game season ticket for next season. This initiative came in response to suggestions from the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST), which had also proposed a price freeze. The 19-game ticket will reduce the cost of attending matches, offering fans the opportunity to pay £386 less than they would for a standard full season ticket.

The AST argued that this approach would lower the upfront cost for fans, especially those who struggle to attend evening games. Furthermore, it would help increase the availability of tickets for silver and red members, especially for cup games. The introduction of this option is a positive step towards accommodating fans from diverse backgrounds, allowing them to attend more matches without committing to the full season ticket package.
Discussions about ticket pricing have been part of broader conversations involving the Arsenal Advisory Board, which includes elected supporters from various groups. These discussions have been supported by Arsenal’s management team, with executive vice-chair Tim Lewis, managing director Richard Garlick, and chief commercial officer Juliet Slot all participating in earlier meetings. Their involvement underscores the club’s commitment to balancing financial sustainability with fan satisfaction.
In line with celebrating 40 years of Arsenal in the Community, the club has pledged to make 1,000 tickets available free of charge across the season, prioritising the local community. This gesture is part of Arsenal’s ongoing efforts to make the club more accessible and maintain strong ties with its fanbase.
Arsenal’s decision to raise ticket prices, despite the understandable concerns from supporters, reflects the financial challenges that many top clubs face in the current climate. While some clubs have frozen prices, Arsenal’s focus on improving facilities and maintaining competitive wages for players and staff is also crucial for the club’s long-term success. The introduction of the 19-game season ticket is a step towards providing more options for fans and ensuring that attending matches remains as accessible as possible, given the realities of modern football economics.
As the club celebrates 40 years of its community-focused initiatives, Arsenal’s efforts to make tickets accessible for local fans are commendable. Ensuring that the next generation of supporters can continue to engage with the club is an essential part of Arsenal’s strategy.
