Arsenal are unconcerned over speculation linking Myles Lewis-Skelly with an exit and are optimistic about agreeing a new deal with the defender.
Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakout campaign for Arsenal in 2024/25, with the teenager making 39 appearances in all competitions after debuting for the senior side in September.
The 18-year-old was a key part of Arsenal’s run to the Champions League semi-finals and thrived in the quarter-final win over holders Real Madrid.
Following those displays, the Spanish side have been linked with an ambitious move to sign Lewis-Skelly, whose contract has just 12 months to run.
Real Madrid have targeted high-profile free agents in recent windows with Kylian Mbappe and Trent Alexander-Arnold among the names to have moved to the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos are again scouting the market for potential Bosman deals, amid links to Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate and Lewis-Skelly.
However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Arsenal remain relaxed about the latter’s situation. The North Londoners are keen to reward Lewis-Skelly with a new long-term deal, recognising his development at the Emirates.
He has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s first choice at left-back and marked his senior England debut with a goal in March. Lewis-Skelly became the youngest debutant to score for England, beating the previous record held by Marcus Rashford.
Arsenal are keen to tie up the defender to a new deal, after sealing an agreement for Gabriel Maghalaes earlier this month. The Brazilian defender ended speculation surrounding his future at the Emirates after signing a new contract. Gabriel is now contracted to the Gunners until 2029.
