Arsenal Women have completed the Cloé Lacasse from Benfica on a free transfer.

The Canadian striker scored 22 goals in 22 league games last season as well as five in six Champions League appearances.

The move is the first of the summer for the Gunners, who finished the 2022/23 campaign with 17 goals fewer than eventual champions Chelsea.

Arsenal could welcome back Beth Mead from a long setback by the time next season begins but star striker Vivianne Miedema is still set to miss significant time through her ACL injury.

Lacasse offers an option across the frontline and will be in action for Canada at this summer’s Women’s World Cup.
