Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping an eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for months and nearly signed him last summer. Now, they’re making another push to get the deal done.

Journalist Christian Falk recently reported that PSG remain strongly interested in Kimmich, whose contract situation at Bayern Munich is still unresolved.

The French champions pursued him last summer, but he turned down the move. This time, PSG have reignited their interest, though Inter Milan and Liverpool are also in the race. Meanwhile, Bayern and Kimmich remain in contact, and a contract extension is still on the table.

Could Bayern Munich walk away from Joshua Kimmich?

Bayern Munich are hopeful a resolution will come with them and Kimmich. Still, sporting director Max Eberl says the club will handle whatever decision Joshua Kimmich makes about his future, suggesting an exit could be on the horizon.

“Generally speaking, nobody is above the club,” Ebrel told Bild (h/t TEAMtalk). “If a player decides differently, then he decides differently. Things will continue at FC Bayern. We are not at that point with Kimmich.

“I’ve never given updates on negotiations, won’t be doing that now either because that’s inappropriate. We treat each other with big respect – we’re talking. What’s important is how Josh and we as a club treat each other.”

Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg reported Friday that Arsenal has been strongly interested in Joshua Kimmich for several days and has already held talks with him.

The Gunners are reportedly eyeing Kimmich as a free transfer option to potentially replace Jorginho. The Bayern Munich midfielder has received two written offers from clubs outside Germany, including one from the Premier League.

As a result, this is the main reason he is hesitant to sign a new deal with Bayern, which would extend his contract until at least 2028 with a salary of €20 to €22 million gross per year, per the report.
