The teenager produced another standout display as the champions were humbled
Arsenal closed the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool with a thumping victory over Manchester City.
The Gunners ran out 5-1 winners over the reigning champions thanks to goals from Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri.
City had pegged Arsenal back early in the second-half and they made it 1-1 thanks to a header from Erling Haaland.
But Mikel Arteta’s side responded after that and claimed the win that means they are now six points off league leaders Liverpool.
Simon Collings was at Emirates Stadium to see Arsenal in action...
David Raya 7
Made two great saves in the first-half to keep efforts from Josko Gvardiol and Savinho out. Came up trumps when Arsenal needed him.
Jurrien Timber 7
Booked for a late tackle on Savinho, but other than that he was steady. Got forward at times too and looked threatening.
William Saliba 8
Haaland got the better of him once all afternoon to equalise for City, but otherwise the Frenchman dominated him.
Gabriel 8
Seemed to relish renewing his battle with Haaland. Brilliant in the air and made a couple of big blocks, too.
Myles Lewis-Skelly 9 | Star player
What a performance from the 18-year-old. Kept Phil Foden and then scored his first goal for the club. Celebrated by mimicking Haaland’s celebration. Remarkable stuff.
Martin Odegaard 7
Opened the scoring for Arsenal inside the opening two minutes.
Thomas Partey 9
Put Arsenal back in front with a deflected strike from outside the box. Imperious at the base of midfield and broke up play well.
Declan Rice 8
Covered so much ground and pressed really well high up the pitch, which gave Arsenal’s chances in the first-half.
Gabriel Martinelli 8
Full of running. Denied by a good save from Stefan Ortega midway through the second-half. Setup Havertz for Arsenal’s fourth goal.
Kai Havertz 8
Assisted the opening goal, but missed a glorious chance in the first-half to make it 2-0. Made amends with a great finish to seal the win.
Leandro Trossard 7
Put in a big shift on the left flank. Gave some protection to Lewis-Skelly and was a threat when Arsenal countered.
