Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes there is still all to play for in the battle for the 2022-23 Premier League title.

Seaman’s former employers Arsenal saw their advantage on Manchester City at the top of the standings cut to six points following a pulsating 2-2 draw against Liverpool yesterday.

Mikel Arteta’s men raced into a two-goal lead before the half-hour mark thanks to strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus before Mohammed Salah’s close-range finish and a Roberto Firmino header restored parity.

Seaman claims yesterday’s stalemate at Anfield adds more intrigue to what is already a thrilling title race and believes Arsenal are in with a great chance of being crowned champions for the first time since 2004.

“It opens the title race up a little bit more,” Seaman told talkSPORT Breakfast.

“I think the only reason it feels like two points dropped is because we were 2-0 up. Before the game, we were thinking this would be one of our toughest games.

“Either team could have won it in the last few minutes – it was so end-to-end.

“Many people are expecting Man City to beat Arsenal at the Etihad, and I don’t agree with that – I think there might be a little surprise in that game.

“I’m looking forward to it. With the way Arsenal are playing at the moment – we’ve got a great chance.”

With a potentially title-deciding clash between Arsenal and Man City to come on April 26, Pep Guardiola’s men will be looking to close the gap to three points ahead of their game in hand against West Ham United.

The Gunners will be keen to keep pulling away from their nearest challengers by securing maximum points against Southampton and West Ham heading into the heavyweight fixture at the Etihad Stadium.
