Napoli standout Victor Osimhen has drawn interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea this summer transfer window. However, the Gunners could follow Paris Saint-Germain’s path in not pursuing a No. 9 before the summer window closes.

Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sport Germany recently reported that Chelsea are still pursuing the 25-year-old striker, while Arsenal made a casual inquiry a few weeks ago. Moreover, multiple reports indicate that the French giants are not currently pursuing a No. 9.

Arsenal secured a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday with goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka. After the win, manager Mikel Arteta hinted that the club aren’t in the market for a new striker this summer despite the links to Osimhen.

“I have faith in [Havertz], we have faith in [Gabriel Jesus]. [Leandro Trossard] has played in that position,” Arteta told talkSPORT.

“So we have different qualities in there and the best thing we can do is trust the players that we have and try improve them. They are so good and so willing and that’s what we focus on.”

Since transferring from Ligue 1’s LOSC Lille to Napoli, the Nigerian international has netted 76 goals in 133 appearances, including 65 goals in Serie A. Osimhen was also pivotal in securing Napoli’s league title in the 2022-23 season.
