Arsenal head into a critical week with few fitness issues threatening their thrilling Premier League title push.

The Gunners produced a somewhat nervy display in another must-win game against Manchester United on Sunday after rivals Manchester City had thrashed Fulham 24 hours earlier, but escaped Old Trafford with a narrow win thanks to Leandro Trossard’s first-half goal to take them back to the summit with a one-point advantage.

City, though, crucially have that outstanding game in hand to come on Tuesday night, with Arsenal left in the unusual position of cheering on fierce north London rivals Tottenham to get a result and massively aid their title chances.

An enthralling title race will now go down to the final day of the season next weekend even if City win at Spurs to stay firmly in the driving seat, with Mikel Arteta’s side hosting Everton at the Emirates Stadium as their rivals welcome West Ham.

Here’s all the latest Arsenal injury news and return dates ahead of that potentially pivotal game...

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka started as normal for Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, but delivered a very subdued performance by his normal high standards and was somewhat of a peripheral figure throughout the game.

The England winger appeared to pick up a slight knock towards the end of proceedings, clattering into the hoardings behind one of the goals after awkwardly falling down the steep slope.

Though Saka initially returned to the fray, he was uncomfortable and eventually limped off to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus with eight minutes to go against United.

However, Arsenal boss Arteta did not seem to have any concerns over the injury after the game, with Saka expected to be available to face Everton on the final day.

Asked if the 22-year-old was okay during his post-match press conference, Arteta said: “Yeah, he should be fine.”

Potential return date: Sunday May 19, vs Everton (H)

Jurrien Timber

Jurrien Timber has not played for Arsenal at senior level since the opening day of the season, when he cruelly suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury on his Premier League debut at home against Nottingham Forest and required surgery.

The versatile summer signing showed good and quick progress with his recovery, though Arteta has wanted to take an understandably cautious approach with regards to his return after such a serious injury.

Timber built up his match fitness with a couple of appearances for Arsenal’s Under-21 side, even scoring a brilliant goal against Blackburn in the Premier League 2, before being expected to make his long-awaited comeback to the senior squad against Bournemouth at the Emirates last weekend.

However, despite Timber no longer playing for the U21s and seeming to train fully at London Colney, he was left out against Bournemouth and again was not involved at all against United with Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko instead providing the defensive cover on the bench and Takehiro Tomiyasu fit to start after a knock.

Timber did make the trip to Manchester, but in the role of an additional player in case of emergency and was not included in the matchday squad in the end.

Arteta is no doubt still just wanting to exercise caution with an important player, who could yet be involved against Everton on the final day.

If not, he will have to wait until next season to make only his second competitive Arsenal appearance.

Potential return date: Sunday May 19, vs Everton (H)
