Kyle-Walker Peters is a key target this summer as West Ham look to offload players to shape the new squad for Graham Potter.
It’s expected to be another busy summer in east London, with the club eager to reshape the squad as Potter and his Head of Recruitment put in place a side that can flourish under the systems & style of former Brighton boss Potter.
Club insider ExWHUEmployee provided an update on the current state of play, with Kyle Walker-Peters of Southampton seen as a target, with both Vladimir Coufal and Emerson’s futures in doubt.
“We are very keen on Kyle Walker-Peters,” said club insider Ex on The West Ham Way. “The fact he can operate as both a right & left back is very appealing, especially with both Vladimir Coufal and Emerson’s futures at the club looking doubtful.”
As reported previously, Ex has advised that both Everton and Fulham are looking at Coufal as a potential signing this summer, with West Ham unlikely to offer a pay increase to retain the Czech international at this stage.
Furthermore, Emerson is attracting interest from elsewhere, with the club potentially looking now at cashing in on the former Chelsea player, especially following the progression of Ollie Scarles this season.
“Emerson has interest from clubs in Italy, which could well be appealing for the player and the club,” added Ex. “He’s 31 this year, so it would seem a wise move to free up wages and have additional funds for Graham Potter to shape his squad for next season.
“Guido Rodriguez is another who looks highly likely to leave too, with former club Real Betis and their rivals Sevilla said to be keen on the midfielder.
“He also has interest from clubs in Saudi and Qatar, so it appears the club should be able to sanction a sale of the player at the end of the season.”
