Barcelona star Fermín López has this week moved to confirm his plans for next season and beyond.

Midfielder Fermín is for his part of course fresh off another fine season on the books of Barcelona.

Despite acting as a backup to Dani Olmo for much of the campaign in Catalunya’s capital, the Spaniard carved out an important place for himself in Hansi Flick’s squad.

All told, in 46 appearances across all competitions, the 22-year-old racked up an impressive eight goals and 10 assists.

With such production, though, comes inevitable outside interest.

Fermín is understood to be on the watchlist of a whole host of clubs across the continent, ready to pounce in the case of the Spanish international seeking out a new challenge.

If the latest comments on the part of the player himself are anything to go by, however, then such suitors look set to be left wanting this summer.

Speaking during an interview with RAC1, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, early this week, Fermín was drawn on the possibility of departing Barcelona over the months ahead.

And the midfield starlet made use of the question to reiterate his full commitment to the cause in Hansi Flick’s squad:

“I’m very happy at Barça. It was my dream and I obviously want to stay. I’m not thinking about that.”
