According to reports, AmaZulu FC have decided to reverse their decision to sign Guinean striker Boniface Haba, whose services were announced a few weeks ago.

The 28-year-old was among the list of players who left Usuthu following the end of the 2024-2025 season and the end of the Betway Premiership season.

The player joined the team last season from Botola Pro side in Morocco, Olympic Club de Safi, in his first season with the team, the player failed to open his scoring record with the team, he made 8 appearances for the team and failed to make an impact.

The Guinean is part of the team's pre-season squad

As AmaZulu FC gears up for the upcoming campaign, the club has made significant changes to its roster, parting ways with several players while bolstering its attacking options. Among those released was former Horoya AC striker Alhaji Haba, who faced stiff competition for playing time last season from Elmo Kambindu and loanee Etiosa Ighodaro. However, Ighodaro has since returned to his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns, following the conclusion of his loan spell.

Haba was one of many departures, with the club also bidding farewell to key figures such as captain Veli Mothwa, defenders Abbubaker Mobara and Ramahlwe Mphahlele, midfielders Ethan Brooks and Augustine Mulenga, as well as forwards Msindisi Kunene and Junior Dion. The clear-out signals a fresh start under head coach Arthur Zwane, who is determined to reshape the squad for a more competitive season.

Despite the exodus, Haba remains part of the pre-season preparations, suggesting he may still have a role to play in Zwane’s plans. Meanwhile, AmaZulu have moved swiftly to reinforce their attack, securing the signature of former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon on a free transfer following his departure from Golden Arrows.

The Durban-based side, owned by Sandile Zungu, is aiming to build a squad capable of challenging for silverware after a modest sixth-place finish in the previous campaign. With new arrivals expected and a renewed tactical approach, fans will be eager to see if these changes translate into success on the pitch.
