Massimiliano Allegri appears to be the frontrunner for Roma’s coaching vacancy.
The former Juventus manager remains Friedkin’s favorite candidate to succeed Claudio Ranieri ahead of next season.
With his experience, the Italian technician is considered the perfect profile to take over the team.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that in all likelihood Allegri’s appointment will only happen if Roma manager to qualify to next year’s Champions League.
Champions league participation seems to play a crucial role in Allegri’s decision to join the Giallorossi.
With the qualification for the Champions League, everything would be different, argues the newspaper, given that the main European cup guarantees at least 50-55 million in revenue right from the start – this in turn would boost the importance and legitimacy of Roma’s long-term project in the eyes of someone like Allegri.
