Trent Alexander-Arnold has been left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
Djed Spence has replaced the former Liverpool right-back, earning his first call-up to the senior team following a strong start to the Premier League campaign with Tottenham Hotspur.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has also been called up for England duty for the first time in the absence of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.
Marcus Rashford, who joined Barcelona from Manchester United this summer, and Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton have earned recalls, while there is no place for Jack Grealish despite his two assists for Everton against Brighton last weekend.
Morgan Gibbs-White and Jordan Henderson have also been included, but there is no place in the Three Lions team for Ivan Toney or Burnley full-back Kyle Walker. Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill all miss out through injury.
England will host Andorra at Wembley Stadium next Saturday before travelling to Serbia the following Tuesday. They are currently top of Group K with three wins from their opening three games.
