On July 30, 2010, AKRON Stadium opened its doors with an unbeatable match: Chivas hosted Manchester United, one of the most historic and prestigious European clubs. Since then, the Rebaño's home has been the scene of great national feats and exciting international duels, which have put Guadalajara in the spotlight of world football.

The AKRON Stadium has become a must-visit destination for renowned clubs and national teams. Throughout its history, it has hosted both European and South American clubs, as well as men's and women's national teams, establishing itself as a world-class venue.

On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, we take a look back at some of its distinguished visitors, as that match against the Red Devils was the beginning of a long list of renowned clubs.

- European clubs: Manchester United (2010) / Porto (2017) / Sevilla, Betis, and Athletic Club de Bilbao (2023).- South American teams: Internacional de Porto Alegre (2010) / Deportivo Quito, Vélez Sarsfield, and Defensor Sporting (2012) / Boca Juniors (2017).- North American clubs: Seattle Sounders, NY Red Bulls, and Toronto FC (2018).- Women's teams: Argentina National Team (2021) and Barcelona Women's Team (2024)

AKRON Stadium hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, as well as all the soccer competition for the continental games. It has also hosted one CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament and several games between national teams.

AKRON Stadium has been much more than just a building. It represents 15 years of passion and soccer. It is a symbol of Rojiblanco pride and even Guadalajara pride, having become an architectural landmark in the city of Guadalajara and a luxury venue for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
