The agent of striker Lautaro Martinez has made clear that there will be no Saudi Pro League move for him as he’s extending his contract with Inter Milan.

Speaking to Saudi outlet WinWinAllSports, via FCInter1908, Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano slammed the door on the prospect of a transfer to a Saudi club in the near future.

Argentine international Martinez is currently Inter captain.

The 26-year-old has been the skipper for the last year. He inherited the armband from Samir Handanovic following the Slovenian’s retirement from playing.

Martinez enjoyed perhaps his best season in an Inter shirt in his first campaign as captain. He scored 24 goals in Serie A as the Nerazzurri won the title.

That was enough to make Martinez the top scorer in the Italian top flight for last season.

Naturally, this has led to some transfer interest in Martinez.

And for Inter, it has been a priority to tie the Argentine down on a new deal.

Martinez’s current contract with the Nerazzurri runs until the end of June 2026. He signed his most recent deal in the autumn of 2021.

However, Inter have been working to agree a new deal with their captain.

Agent Of Lautaro Martinez: “No Saudi Move, He’s Agreed New Inter Deal”

There were some stumbling blocks in negotiations between Martinez and Inter.

The wage demands of the 26-year-old striker were the big one. He had initially requested a pay increase that would be outside of Inter’s financial capabilities.

But eventually, Martinez reportedly instructed his agent Camano to accept Inter’s offer.

This was because the Argentine wanted to stay at Inter for reasons that are not financial.

Asked if he could see negotiating with a Saudi club, Camano said that “We’ve already found an agreement with Inter to extend his contract.”

“Lautaro is a leader and the captain at Inter,” the agent continued.

“That aspect is very important to him. That’s the truth.”
