AFC Wimbledon clinched promotion to League One with a dramatic 1-0 win over Walsall at Wembley.
The only goal of the game came in first-half stoppage time, when Myles Hippolyte rifled in a brilliant effort from outside the box.
After a Dons corner wasn’t properly cleared, the ball dropped to Hippolyte on the edge of the area, and he lashed it home with a left-footed half-volley.
Walsall skipper Jamille Matt came close to pulling one back, but his effort was cleared off the line, as the side who’d once been 12 points clear at the top of League Two pushed hard to get back into the game.
But Wimbledon held firm under pressure and saw the game out, confirming their return to League One after three years away.
The win means Johnnie Jackson’s side join Doncaster Rovers, Bradford City and Port Vale in winning promotion to League One.
