Ada Hegerberg’s team have been on fire in Switzerland and ever since going behind to the hosts in the tournament opener, they haven’t looked back with three wins on the bounce.

Switzerland, Finland and Iceland all proved to be no match for Norway in the Euro 2025 group stage and as a result of their three wins, the nation earned a more favourable draw against Group B runners up, Italy.

Making it out of the group stage is something that has been expected of the Norwegians in recent tournaments however in the previous two renewals they were eliminated in the group stage.

This year Norway fans will be relieved after a positive start to the tournament and team captain Ada Hegerberg is feeling confident.

“We can enjoy being in such a strong position,” said Hegerberg. “We’ve had very good energy, everyone has contributed and we want to ride that wave and draw on the good sense of unity we have. I’m very proud of the group, the way we have believed and set up as a team.

“It’s a very important game – there’s a lot at stake but we want to relish the moment. To get a top-four place in Europe would be amazing.”

Hegerberg has scored just one goal at Euro 2025, but was rested in the final group game with Norway’s qualification secured.

Although their previous two tournaments didn’t end in success, the last time Norway made it out of the group stage at the Euros they made it all the way to the final which ended in defeat to Germany.

Having only lost to the Spanish world champions up until now, Italy come into the game as marginal favourites to beat Norway.

According to the UK’s best betting sites, Norway are 2/1 to beat Italy in the quarter finals and 28/1 to win Euro 2025.
