AC Milan Primavera 3-1 Genoa: Rossoneri secure play-offs on final day | OneFootball

AC Milan Primavera will play in the Scudetto play-offs after beating Genoa 3-1 at the PUMA House of Football this afternoon.

Last week, it seemed that Milan had blown their chances of finishing in the top six. However, results elsewhere have meant that the Primavera will play for the Scudetto this season – a fantastic achievement.

The opening 20 minutes were full of chances for both teams with the opposition probably going closest in this period. However, the game began to turn in the 25th, as Bonomi hit the post from the edge of the box.

Just five minutes later, the young Rossoneri were awarded a penalty, which was converted by Mattia Liberali cooly. It was far from game over though, as their opponents showed signs of life before the half-time whistle.

So, when the Rossoblu levelled the scoring after just seven minutes in the second half, there were admittedly some fears. Especially with them pushing on further after their equaliser, coming close to getting the advantage 10 minutes after.

It was not to be though as Maximilian Ibrahimovic scored next to give the hosts the lead, infront of his father, who was in attendance this afternoon. From the restart, Genoa had a chance to score themselves, hitting the bar.

A nervy 15 minutes followed, but the Diavolo’s victory and place in the play-offs would be secured in the 92nd minute as Pippo Scotti scored their third of the game.

Milan Primavera will now play Sassuolo in the first stage of the play-offs, thanks to Hellas Verona losing today.
