AC Milan have established contact to sign Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku (27) before the end of the summer transfer window, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano. The 27-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge and is expected to leave the West London club before the window slams shut.

Milan are looking to bolster their attacking options in the time that remains of the transfer window. Nkunku is a name that has been mentioned in recent hours by the Serie A outfit’s management as they explore their options. The France international is open to leaving the Blues, Romano understands.

Nkunku attracting interest from several clubs

The Italian club are not the only club showing an interest in signing the former RB Leipzig attacking midfielder. Aston Villa have also shown an interest in signing the Chelsea forward, and Bayern Munich are also long-term admirers of the PSG academy graduate.
