Tammy Abraham was the hero of the hour for AC Milan as he scored a late winner against Red Star, but he has admitted that it felt like it might not be his night.
Milan made it four wins on the spin in the Champions League by beating the Serbian champions, yet it was far from an easy night as they required a winner in the closing stages of the game.
The Rossoneri took the lead in the first half when Rafael Leao collected a ball over the top from Youssouf Fofana and finished well, but Radonjic came off the bench to score a rocket of an equaliser in the second half.
Just as it looked like the game was drifting towards a draw, Abraham was there in the right place at the right time to lash home a rebound as Francesco Camarda came close to scoring again, making it 2-1 which it would finish.
Abraham spoke to Milan TV after the full-time whistle to give his analysis of what was a very difficult three points but a welcome win nonetheless. MilanNews transcribed his comments.
A second consecutive Champions League game with a goal for you. It almost seemed like the ball didn’t want to go in…
“It seemed to be one of those games where you want to score at all costs but the ball didn’t want to go in. I believed in myself, in my team-mates. It was all about being in the right place at the right time, and fortunately for me the ball went in and I scored.”

“I think we will improve day by day. Today was a very important victory. In the end the most important thing was the victory, and we got it.”
Is the top eight now the target in the Champions League?
“I believe in it. We are Milan, we are a strong team. We want to win every competition we play. We just have to work and move forward as teams and we will achieve it.”
