Manchester City has a special player that is due to arrive at the club this summer. Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the champions have agreed a deal to bring Girona’s on loan star Savio to the club from fellow CFG club Troyes. Recent comments made by Girona manager Michel indicate that a special player is due to arrive at Manchester City this summer.

In comments relayed by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account Girona manager Michel was full of praise for the young Brazilian winger. The Girona manager believes Savio is the best player he’s ever managed. Michel said: “When I saw Sávio on first training session, I said: we’re gonna play in Europe next season, he’s special. He’s the best player I’ve ever had.”

Savio will add something different to the Manchester City squad.

Savio has starred for Girona this season. He has been an integral player in Girona’s rise up the La Liga table. His performances have helped the club secure Champions League football for the first time in their history. In 37 appearances in all competitions, Savio has contributed 10 goals and 9 assists so far this season. Playing primarily on the left wing for Girona, he has been one of the standout performers in La Liga this season.

Savio will bring speed and a dynamic skillset to the Etihad when he arrives at Manchester City this summer. His ability to beat a man is a standout attribute of his game. With his eye for goal and for a pass, he will immediately add to Pep Guardiola’s attacking options.

The young Brazilian will also add something different to City’s options on the wing. As it stands currently, Manchester City has Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish as out and out wingers in their squad. Both add something different to the position for the world champions. Savio is a similar type of winger to Jeremy Doku. Given that Manchester City are often tasked with breaking down low defensive blocks, Savio may help the champions unlock the stubborn defensive resistance they are often faced with.
